Amazing Stories/Amazing Songs

A friend of mine told me one day that she didn't like musicals because she couldn't see people walking down the street and then just bursting into song. Then she looked at me and said, "Never mind. You are definitely one of those people."

I enjoy many kinds of music and feel honored that God has blessed me with the the talents to share that with others. My high school yearbook predicted that I would be an opera star. Well, that didn't come near to happening, but I have loved being "on stage" in different types of settings and sharing the songs that I enjoy.

With Amazing Songs, I work up a different program every month. While some request some of the same songs each month, I make sure that there are always new songs to sing and new stories to tell about those songs. That keeps the program fresh and my creative juices flowing. The programs also vary with accompaniment--karaoke, piano, guitar, ukulele, or just acapella.

I love the easy-listening music of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, especially the crooners. I'm also a big fan of Broadway tunes, folk songs (new and traditional), country and western songs, and Irish melodies, just to name a few. And I especially love to lift up praises to God with hymns and other spiritual songs.
