Jess Peterson

Prior to retirement, Jess Peterson worked over 23 years with senior adults as both a senior adult minister and executive director for assisted living and retirement communities in Lubbock, Texas. Jess holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science in Gerontology from Abilene Christian University. Jess has coordinated senior adult church groups, senior-related camps and events, and served on a number of boards with emphasis on senior adult issues.

Jess lost his loving wife, Chris, in February 2024, after a marriage of 51 years. She was a wonderful partner and best friend, a fantastic Mom and Nana, and a talented school teacher. Their two loving daughters (Jill and Amanda) live in Lubbock and the Jess’s four wonderful grandchildren (Benjamin and Katharine, Caroline and Jack).

Jess enjoys "lighthousing" and other travels. He appreciates music of many types, enjoys acting, and is an avid reader of history and aging topics. He is an accomplished, fun-loving speaker with the experience and know-how to captivate an audience.
